Taking Care of Warts with the Duct Tape Method
Have you ever heard of the duct tape method of removing warts? If you haven't - then you've certainly been left out. Frankly speaking, this method is one of the more popular alternative treatments for warts and it has been proven to be successful time and time again. So if you want to remove your warts without actually going in for minor surgery - you're about to find out how you could do just that.
Basically, the duct tape method involves cutting a strip of duct tape large enough to completely cover your warts and then leaving it there. The idea behind this is that moisture and heat will be trapped under the duct tape which will 'soften' the wart itself. By doing so, it will be prepared for the next stage which involves taking a pumice stone and scrubbing the wart!
Because the wart has been softened, the pumice stone may actually be able to scrub it right off. While this may sound painful, you should relax - the truth is that it really doesn't pain very much at all. Frankly, you're not really going to be scrubbing very hard, just gently enough to see if you're able to scrub the wart off with ease.
If you find that you can't, and if the wart is stubbornly refusing to come off, then all you should do is reapply the duct tape and try again later on. Eventually, you should be able to soften the wart enough that it will come off with ease.
While this may seem like a very crude method to remove warts, the fact of the matter is that it has been used for ages and is as effective today as it ever was. Considering the alternatives for removing warts involve minor surgery, the question that you should be asking yourself is what you have to lose by trying this approach.
Worst case scenario - it doesn't work. If that is the case then all that you've really lost is a few strips of duct tape and possibly whatever you spent to buy a pumice stone if you didn't happen to have one handy.
On the other hand, if it does work then you've saved yourself the time and money that would be involved in going in for that minor surgery that you would need to remove your warts. That doesn't sound too bad, right?
